I spent my younger years growing up in the Adirondack Mountains. My family usually had a horse,a few cows,a handful of chickens and a cat around. We always had a vegetable garden in the summer and turned it into an ice skating rink in the winter. My great love for dogs started in the early 60's when my father brought home a puppy. It was love at first sight. He was mine and I was his. We played, ate, slept together and just lived for the start of the next day for our new adventure to begin.
Fast forward a few decades. My husband, who is a Phillie boy, and I made our home here in South Georgia. The kids are all grown and we have grandkids. I decided it was time to find myself another special boy to enjoy some new adventures with and he was going to be a Golden Retriever. It took me a year and a half before I found Walker. He brings so much love, happiness and peace to my heart. It's just an incredible feeling.
Because of Walker, I am following a new direction in my life. I want to pay back what has been shared with me. I want to share the joy of sending that special girl or boy home with the person who has been looking for them. I want to show how great the Golden Retriever is when well bred with health clearances. I want to enjoy the challenge of improving the breed. This is my vision and passion.
One of the biggest reasons a person should consider a responsible breeder is the experience with proper socialization and proper care way before the whelping box in acquiring all health clearances required by the Code of Ethics of GRCA. I am an AKC CGC Evaluator, and have experience with many temperament issues and can recognize, even in a puppy, social types.
